I grew up along the Utah/Idaho border. From Logan, UT to Malad, ID and a couple places in between. Growing up, I never knew what to say when people asked what I wanted to be. I would have a phase for about a month and then think of something else. For this reason, I decided to not attend college until I was absolutely certain of what I wanted to do.
After I graduated high school, I moved back to Logan and worked at Denny’s where I met my wonderful husband. We got married and after fighting a battle with my vaginismus, we eventually got pregnant with our first. Through the process of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, I fell in love with motherhood and birth work. The seed for doula work had been planted.
My love for photography came a little later, after I gave birth to my second baby. Money was a bit tight and so I took my daughters newborn photos myself. Since then, I have fallen in love with the story telling aspect of photography and capturing the small moments in peoples lives as well as the big.
In 2023 we moved from Utah to a town outside of Reno, Nevada. My God continued to pave paths for me that I hadn’t even thought of traveling. In December of ‘23 I was offered a job at one of the local hospitals teaching childbirth education classes and I am still teaching virtual classes for them even though I have moved back to Utah. I am currently studying through Birthworks International to receive my certification in Childbirth Education.

I believe that birth is an incredible and personal moment. One that encompasses mind, body, and spirit. I believe that our bodies know how to birth, it’s just our minds that have forgotten. I am on the “scrunchy” side. Especially teaching in a hospital setting, I know and understand that birth can need some medical interventions and I am so grateful for them! However, my focus and passion lies in helping to educate women on the power their body has and standing guard, supporting, and holding them as they are going through the transformative journey.
